Hey.....Good day today in London. Got up early at about 8 and after an hour or so of wandering, found my way to BUNAC headquarters for orientation. While there, I registered Luke and I for this weekend's trip to Scotland, saw some girl who I think may have been in one of my gym classes at school, and placed calls for about 20 to 30 different job openings, ranging everywhere from assistant to a CEO to a bartender. I don't know where I will end up but I should have some job within a couple of days if I remain persistent. While on the phone with one manager, I was told that a clerical position is a "woman's job," and that I have no business applying for such a position even if it does pay almost 12 American dollars an hour. As far as the girl from school goes, I tried to talk to her but there were about forty people in orientation, and after registering for the Scotland trip in a different room, I came back and she was gone. Anyway, atleast I was successful in not getting lost today. My directional skills parallel those of a drunk four-year-old lost in a super market. I am actually quite proud of myself: I found our flat twice today, and it is at least a fifteen minute walk from the nearest subway station. Luke and I ate at a pizza buffet until almost puking: We had about twelve pieces each and probably caused Pizza Hut to operate at a loss this evening. After the waitresses began to smirk and stare, we finally took off for a pub and then an internet cafe to book our tickets for Spain in July. Hopefully, I will continue to enhance my directional skills tomorrow when I will attempt to find a used bike shop and make a purchase. Wish me luck.....
